Compelling, minimalist, high-performance furniture for the home, workplace and hospitality environments.

Designs in the m.a.d. collection embody a classically modern aesthetic, where form is an expression of function, structure and material. Compelling and Minimalist, these are enduring designs, built to last. The collection features dining chairs and tables, barstools, lounge chairs, occasional tables and lighting – over 40 original designs in all. Materials range from powder-coated steel and aluminium to plastics, moulded plywood, solid timber and veneers. Creative Director Mark Daniel is based in Chicago, as part of a design studio he shares with Amanda Ip – designing for m.a.d. and other global brands, including US retailers: Crate & Barrel, cb2, Design Within Reach, Anthropologie.
m.a.d. was founded by friends Matt Cole and Dan Given who have both worked in China for over a decade, developing furniture and managing supply chains for large US and European retailers. Matt is a Hong Kong native, with degrees in international business and Mandarin Chinese. Dan is a Kiwi with an engineering background, who has lived in Taiwan and China.
All m.a.d. designs are engineered to meet or exceed contract level standards (BIFMA), and are tested independently at the company’s own product development and testing facility (m.a.d. labTM) just out of Shenzhen. Quality and innovation has led to growth, and in 2021, m.a.d. established its north American base to offer the collection to the US, Canada and Mexico for the first time.
